Chicken not laying eggs for 3 days???

Hi I have a black chicken that used to lay 1-2 eggs a day.

One day we saw her sitting on duck eggs and took them away/ there were about 8.
Now she stoped laying eggs!
Any help why?
Also a question when are chickens supposed to start laying eggs?

Sounds as if she went broody and is now taking a break in the laying cycle. The age at which chickens vary greatly depending upon breed and even strain within a breed.
