I have two hens that are about 4 years old. They always have laid in the nesting boxes. I have two nesting boxes btw. When they were about a year old we got them a bigger coop (the one we have now) and they still laid in the boxes. Well now one of my hens is laying in the corner of the coop. I had noticed she had been slowing down and about a week ago I found 3 eggs in the corner of the coop. She hasn’t been slowing down, just laying in the corner. My RIR still lays in the box but still getting one egg from the coop is a pain in the butt. Especially when winter comes!
Any ideas on what to do??!? Could she be going broody?

She lays the eggs and then ignores them. Earlier today she pecked at them actually
If she is ignoring the eggs, then she is NOT broody. Is the other hen fighting her out of the nesting box? My girls all like laying in only ONE of the eight nesting boxes. Sometimes, when a hen is already laying, another will lay in various places, BUT the other 7 nests! :he

My hens get along. And I have two boxes so it’s not like they have to share
