Hi friends!
I just hit my first year having chickens, we only have a few, but I feed my girls organic pellets with an automatic feeder and water feeder. Try to let them free range a few times a week as schedule allows. They have shaving in the run and bottom of the coop to catch droppings.
One of my girls, what I believe to be a Barnvelder breed, was laying down in the coop past 2 days, I brought them "treats" of cabbage which they love the other day, she didn't get up, seemed uninterested and hasn't laid for days. Her butt looks red and has no feathers (no feather part has been like that since I got her). She's never let me hold her since we got her last year, but the others have warmed up to me.
Not in the position to afford a vet, we firmly believe in holistic care. I've chopped up raw garlic, sprinkled tumeric in their feed she seemed to do better yesterday, but still not laying.. Any advice?
