Chicken only laying soft eggs, layed a strange egg

She started this in July, went broody and stopped laying, raised some chicks and was perfectly fine the whole time. She just finished being a mom and started laying soft shells, mostly broken with the yolk/whites gooping out. Now she laid this egg and it looks a lot better than normal, but what lithe heck is that appendage on top?

And just so you know, she had been to the vet back in July and was given calcium supplements. That didn’t help, and I’ve also tried tums, to no avail. I want to take her back to find out if she has, like, really really low calcium or something, but for now I want to know if anyone has seen an egg like this before.

I've seen a few from my birds in the past. For my hens, it was never anything to be concerned about. It's more of another case of a misfit egg. I would start getting concerned if you get a lot of these though. How she's already having troubles, it could be related to that.
