first group of chickens (5) of them picture taken shortly before Ethel died of a fatty liver (Buff on the left) We have since learned about limiting fruit and other non feed related foods. Rhode island Red on the left (Gertrude) died of what we can only imagine a heart attack (feet straight toppled over) during a cold day last winter. Her comb turned darker and she wasnt as active her last week alive.
Our chicken setup. Initially built the coop and run combined wanted to expand and let them free rang as much as possible. Had an issue with hawks in the Atlanta area (go figure) avian netting solved that issue to a large extent. Just didnt feel right not allowing them alot of room to roam and enjoy life (these are our pets)
