A few weeks ago, one of our young chickens injured her leg. We segregated her so she wouldn't be picked on until she could walk better. Yesterday morning she seemed back to normal but when I checked on her last night, she was laying in her feeder. I picked her up and she was very weak and very thin. All I felt was bones. We put her in the roost and this morning she was dead.
Do you think maybe it was an infection from the injury? None of the others seem sick. We have 5 mixed layers. They are about 6 months old.
