chicken pecking back

well ive heard that when chickens peck each other's back it means there is a vitamin defiency but im not sure if that is it. How can i stop this ugly act?

Lots of times it is a lack of protein but it can be just plain mean birds. You can use several things from blue kote to salve sprinkled with sulpher dust.
