Is it okay for chicks to eat adult chicken pellets? My 1 1/2 month old chicks are with the hens now, and I don't know how to make sure that the chicks eat chick starter feed and the hens eat chicken pellets. Any suggestions?

From what I read and remember, your chicks can be transitioned from the chick starter to adult grower around the age of 8 weeks so you might be close enough right now. I wouldnt stress too much about it. I would offer both. Chickens are very resiliant and thrive in very harsh conditions at times.

You can feed your whole flock starter to use up your current bag and then grower pellets. Layer feed is just grower plus extra calcium for egg production. You can give a laying hen grower feed with a calcium supplement on the side. Most find keeping a container of oyster shell to be easiest. You should NOT give layer pellets to chicks. The extra calcium isn't needed and excess causes health problems.
