This may seem like a stupid question but I am gonna ask It anyway.
Firstly, I have ROSS 308 birds, I have started to raise and sell for human consumption to the locals.
We process them at 7 weeks and they range between 2 and 3,3 kgs per bird.
I have a batch of 130 birds on a trial run in a prototype chicken tractor to fertilize our horse paddocks.
The other 300 birds are currently kept in sheds. We order 100 every second week so we have a on going supply.
I been doing this only for a few months so still have a lot to learn.
Here comes the stupid question..
.
I have noticed that some chickens poop with a lot of white in the poop some with less and some with none.
Some have a brown or redish part to it.
They are being fed a good grower feed from meadow feeds. Supposedly the best in south africa.
They have access to food and water all day.
They also forage in the grass and the tractor is moved twice a day.
So in summary... Is there anything I can gather about the health of my chickens by monitoring the quality of poo?
I look forward to your responses,
Many thanks
Etienne
