I like to let my girls free-range but my husband doesn't like the chicken poop on the back porch. Anyone have any ideas as to how to keep them off of the porch?

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Sounds like you may need enclose your porch. Chickens get everywhere. There is no way to keep them out of anywhere unless you use a physical barrier of some kind.

You can try bird tape or pie tins blowing in the wind, although they may get used to these things eventually.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X3, about all you can do is fence the chickens in or out, sooner or later they seem to get used to all the scare tactics.

When a chicken gets on your porch put her or him up for an hour or so that they realize that the porch is a bad place for chickens. Another idea is just chasing them off your porch. Ever heard of that saying mad as a wet hen you could get a squirt gun and when ever they get on the porch spray them.
