I just got 4 chicks yesterday; 2 New Hampshire Reds and 2 Barred Plymouth. They seem to be happy, energetic, I swear they got bigger during the 1st day, BUT they are squirting blackish poop. I checked the poop chart and this appears more liquid than anything there. Is this ok? Eating and drinking, cheeping and running around like crazy though.

These are my very first, only books and this forum, so anything will help.

It's probably just stress. But watch out for blood.

Thanks. There's no blood; I did check for that. It was while I was changing their bedding as I had spilled water while changing it, so she was definitely stressed out. I do see other normal poop, so...here's hoping!

After reading this forum for a couple of weeks, I just keep expecting to see them keeled over dead. I guess I need to remember that when things are going fine, people don't ask questions as much.
