Thanks, guys! I feel very relieved with my decision. She's such a sweet mama. It's amazing- this time a year ago she was an egg, and now she somehow knows how to look after babies!

The bonus is, if my incubator eggs don't turn out, the kids are in love with the new chicks and won't be as disappointed.

Wow, that's amazing. She's an awesome little chicken. And how cool are you to do that for her. I have a broody hen (no rooster) if I went to the feed store in a few weeks and pick her up a babe or two, do you think the little ones would bond to mama hen? She was a foster mom before I got her - she had raised someone else's eggs/chicks, so I think she would like to be a mom again. How did you do that exactly. I'd love to see Dahila play mommy.
