Hi all,
Looking for some advice please, at the place I volunteer we have a rather poorly hen and just wondering whether anybody has had a similar issue and knows how to make her better.
The hen is a rescue, and was standing rather upright (at first I thought she was egg bound - but she’s not), but head down. She kept shaking her head and yellowy mucus / phlegm came out her beak (mouth, not nostrils). When I picked her up to move her away from the other hens the mucus just sort of flowed out of her mouth. She can still breathe, but not in a good state and wasn’t eating either.
Does anybody know what this could be and how to cure it?
