Chicken puking mucus.. crop issue?

Hi all,
Looking for some advice please, at the place I volunteer we have a rather poorly hen and just wondering whether anybody has had a similar issue and knows how to make her better.
The hen is a rescue, and was standing rather upright (at first I thought she was egg bound - but she’s not), but head down. She kept shaking her head and yellowy mucus / phlegm came out her beak (mouth, not nostrils). When I picked her up to move her away from the other hens the mucus just sort of flowed out of her mouth. She can still breathe, but not in a good state and wasn’t eating either.
Does anybody know what this could be and how to cure it?
 
I would agree that an upright posture may be due to salpingitis or internal laying issue, and she may have a slow digestion problem due to pressure in the abdomen. Someone dedicated could try some different medicines and treatments to try and help get the crop working better, but in the end she may not live that long. Egg yolk peritonitis and ascites are additional outcomes of the reproductive issues. Here are a couple of good articles about crop issues:
