chicken question

why do my chickens jump on a roost and they wipe there beak across the roost or any kind of board what is that mean....

Mine wipe their beaks across a flat surface when they have something caught or stuck to it. Like fuzz, feathers, soil. I don't know why else they'd do it.

Mine wipe on wood grass bricks. After Yogurt they wipe on my pant leg. Nothing really to be concerned with.

A clean chicken is a happy chicken. Mine do it all the time. They just have good manners and don't like food on their beak. ha

Yep, just wiping something off. I've got a couple girls who do it no matter what is on or off their beaks.
