Hey Everyone!!

O.k! Here it is! I'm VERY curious as to what your BIGGEST complaint as a chicken owner is... What do you grumble about the most? what would you like changed? or what do you think would help you organize better? take care of them better? etc... watering, feeding, gathering eggs, cleaning?... Anyone have any? haha....

Thanks!

Cleaning the coop!!!!!!!!!

I should have added, putting up with comments from those nonchicken folk who just don't understand how great chickens can be.

I guess what has made me grumble the most, so far, has been when I drilled through my thumbnail, while building the coop.
In second place was, when I got the tetinus shot after I drilled through my thumbnail, while building the coop.

Since my chickens are only on day 3 in their coop, I guess it could be a while before I settle on what else gets me upset

I can't say I have anything to complain about. Cleaning is easy with only 6 hens. No time at all, just pick it up in the morning and good till the next day. No noise to worry about, they don't crow, just do some clucking now and again, feeding and watering is quite easy takes all of 3 mins.

Oh...I got it. They free range and seem to like to poop on my patio the best. Out of an 1 3/4 acres to roam they have to hang out on my patio. Tiny little land mines every where. I have a roll of paper towles near by and do a clean up when I see 2 or more. Usually 4 times a night. Not easy to pick up considering it's a stone patio.

The other complaint I have is people that come to visit with their kids. The kids like to chase my girls. I have a huge sign up for parents to read. "Do Not Chase Chickens" Ya think they would tell their kids.....Nope!! I guess they can't read. I usually have to lock up my girls till they leave. Makes me feel sorry for the hens.

I'll save my complaints for the winter when I have to get the water from inside and carry it all the way down to the barn through a foot of snow..........

Gonna have to go with the cleaning of the chicken coop. hehe.

On another note, I have to agree with Grace....They seem to poop on the poarch, and other kids think they can just chase my babies all over! Grrrr...

PS.. love the pic Grace.

My only complaint is that I have no where to go with extra roos, too many bantys, aggressive roos, etc. I loooove hatching but then have no one to sell to around here so I have to put my bators away.......
