First coop and run. Trying to figure out if what I'm thinking will work. Living in north western Colorado is damn near impossible for me to dig 18inch or even 12 in my yard. Massive and alot of cobble stone. Was wondering if my 6in trench will work if I do 18in of skirt on the inside and outside... I've seen the apron trick and thats kind of what I was thinking of doing but basically do half on this inside and eventually bury and the other half of cloth on the outside buried about 6inches down and the other 12 I'll bury as well. I dont ever plan to leave my chickens unattended in the run without me or someone home. I also have 2x4 welded mesh I was going to try to incorporate as well and the 1/2 cloth i was going to save for the top/ceiling of the run. The coop is pretty well secure and I'll secure it more as well. Trying to prevent digger predators just incase. We have skunk and coyotes and and occasional raccoon dead on the road. But being pretty high in elevation. I've never seen them in my small town. We are surrounded by cow farms some im sure if theyre around they're more than occupied else where. But I've never seen anything in my yard. The skunk I tend to see are usually dead. I think I've seen more deer in my yard than anything. Let me know what you think. Thanks
