I too years ago tried saddles. They eventually got them off. And to be honest, they never seemed to mind loosing the feathers, they loved the roosters. I came to the understanding that barebacks bothered people more than they bothered hens.

I don’t have any advice, but I’m dealing with the same problem. I have the camo saddle from the chicken chick, and it has a little wings on it. I think my flock thinks it’s some kind of bird of prey or something when my hen wears it.
