We would like to know if there is good place to buy the saddles cheap or an easy way to make them. We would also like to know what sort of sunscreen is good for chickens.

You should be able to buy saddles on amazon, etsy, etc.

If you search google for patterns, you may be able to find those as well and make your own.

I'm not sure if I'd put sunscreen on a chicken, do you have photos of the feather loss?
I will post some later, but the feather loss is around the belly so not sure a chicken saddle would help.

Around the belly? Is that due to mating or? Saddles help with mating *for the back feather loss*

also, why would you want to put sunscreen on the chicken? Because of the feather loss? I wouldn't. This would be especially true if there was cuts on the chicken, i would imagine thats not to good to do.

A saddle will not help with feather loss around the belly. What you are seeing may be normal loss, hard to know. Photos may be helpful. Do look her over for lice/mites while you are getting photos.

I am going to finally post the pictures some time today, I apologize for taking so long, my chickens probably had mareks at some point, one died of the tumors, the other three are either vaccinated or have survived it, could mareks have anything to do with the permanent feather loss? I doubt it since my hen who died had a full body of feathers. I also doubt lice or mites since I've used permathin and Diatomaceous Earth.

We recently learned that our chickens still had lice, but we do not know if they hatched yet. We also noticed that the chickens had been pecking each other. We were wondering if the red was a sunburn or some sort of fungi infection. We have also heard that some of them having lost feathers is a result of poor diet but we were giving them plenty of protein. Also when we sprayed blue coat on the birds the red did gradually go away but now it is coming back again, I will make a point that my birds do have shade.
