Does anyone have any tips about keeping newborns and small ones?

My husband and I are preparing our home for a baby. We have a 1/4 lot and 4 4 year old hens I love.

I’m terrified of our baby getting sick from the chickens. I had ecoli when I was 4 and almost died, so I am extra nervous about salmonella.

Does anyone have any tips to keep a baby safe?

Thank you!

Wash your hands after you come in from caring for the chickens. That’s all you have to do. If you hug and cuddle them then change your clothes and wash your hands. Your human baby is just like any other baby, put it in a bubble and it will be weak. There are no guarantees in life, no matter how good a helicopter you might be.
