I make up a salad for my flock. Usually cabbage, cukes, grapes, and bologna. In the morning I fill a bowl with it. I'd make a big batch for the week. I'd find towards the end it would have a lot of water in the bottom from the veggies. By accident I found by adding cracked corn to it the 'salad' stays fresher and no water is in the bottom. The hulls in the crack absorb the water!!
They sure enjoy it.
