Should I give up completely, or try to convince her the leash is not scary?

Give up completely.

She is a chicken. Its freaking her out and not fair on her. Let her be a chicken. Not an accessory.

Yes, you should! Leave the poor chicken alone and do not put any outfits on her, she already has her own plumage.

You might try some clicker training instead:

Up to you.....like anything it will take time and exposure.
Fix the harness so her toes don't get stuck.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the replies.
First off, I would just like to state I don't think chickens are accessory's. I just really like spending time with her, she's a good pet, and I thought walking her would be one more thing to do with her.
It's not an "outfit" or anything like that. A while back she was getting her back feathers pecked so I put and apron on her. She got used to that, so she really does not mind having the harness on. I take it off when I am inside and everything.
She also really does not mind being restrained. I catch her and hold her, in the air and on the ground, to pet her, she really does not care. She even enjoys being pet (unrelated but her favorite place to be pet is between the waddles).

I'll try to convince her it's not bad, if she puts up a fight or gets scared again I'll give it up. And I'm only saying this because I've done it before and she walked with me. I don't know why she got scared that time. She's seen it before like that.
Also, I haven't said it yet, but her name is Fluffball.
