Chicken seem scared of me

4 of my 6 week old chicks love to hop on my lap and be petted and held. The other 2 don't want much to do with me. For all of them, though, if I pick them up from the front, sort of scooping with my hands, they accept it much better. Which sort of makes sense if you think about how being picked up from behind would feel a lot more like being snatched up by a predator.

I had 4 hens prior and only one liked being held, a barred rock . The others were production reds and one was really nasty and two not real nice lol. Now we have a batch of a variety of chicks and we hold them, let them see us and keep interacting with them. At one week old some are more personable than others already. It’s breed, personality, and just individuals. Don’t give up! But shake a bowl of dried mealworms and they’ll be running to you lol!
