We also also like to play "Melting chickens." It's so much fun to make people think we're dead.

I call this chicken puddles! The first time I saw my girls do this I truly thought they had dropped dead.

There is a cockerel and 2 pullets in that puddle! :lau

Don't y'all know, the sun's rays hit chickens with much more force than they hit us! They're knocked clean off their feet when struck! :p

I love it!! I never get tired of watching my chickens spread themselves out just right to get as much sun as possible.

I used to raise show Cockers who had very long, heavy coats. They were not happy with hot weather and would only go outside to potty. I had one solid black female who loved baking in the sun. You could see heat shimmers rising from her body and she didn't care. Later on discovered she had low thyroid - so must have felt really good to her.
Despite that she had normal seasons and had great puppies.

I'm not sure what I have, can't take cold - can't take heat. At least I can bundle up for intense cold, can't do much for the heat. The air conditioner at full blast doesn't lower the upstairs bedrooms below 87F. So have to put ceiling fans on to make it bearable.

As a thyroid cancer survior I can say that I'll take cold over hot any day. I sweat like I ran a marathon just vacuuming the house. I did not sweat before they took my throid out.
