I have a hen named Red. She’s an old bird now. She slammed into a pole the other day getting out of the coop...

LOL.. old school fun .

My oldest is about 2 years a super jumpy bantam red. I let em out after 12 these days. By the time I'm down they're anxious to get out and free range. My run is cyclone fence, more than once "Yvette" slams her neck through the fence door and gets stuck. Only way to remediate is to slowly open the door and free her up.

LOL Yvette!!!!! She's been broody for 3 weeks now.. sitting on 5 eggs or so. Hates my guts:




Only 2 who can get close to her.... whatever...

I've read that putting a collar around their necks keeps them from crowing as loud.

It can but it works by constricting their airway. Lots of sad stories about roosters not getting enough oxygen while wearing a no crow collar.
