So there’s a egg layer catagory in my fair. What breeds do you recommend? I’ve only ever done fancy chickens.

how does that work? Do they just take your word for it how many eggs your chicken lays? Or is this for conformation/beauty?

It's a category, like egg layers vs. ornamentals, etc., but what are they judging them on in that category is a good question as there would be several breeds of birds.

I imagine they have a list of breeds that qualify, which the OP should get from the fair people as each one might include or exclude a particular breed from a different one.

The judge feels their butt where the egg come out. I forgot the name.
