Welcome. Cute picture. I wish I had a chicken sitter. You sound like you are a good one. I have a great video about torpedo feeding for a cross beak.I’m a casual chicken-sitter for my neighbors. I haven’t had to deal with serious issues until recently as I’m like the fun auntie bringing treats and getting to play. I do get the privilege of naming them with a goal of gentling them to being around humans.
I found this forum when I was chicken-sitting and had to address a splayed leg and a cross beak.

It probably needs it's beak trimmed. We trim ours about every six months with an electric fingernail dremmel. I'd ask them if they want to try that. It's trimming the top beak mostly. We sometimes to a little on the bottom too. Ours can eat dry feed much better if we keep her beak trimmed.I’ll check this out. The poor chick with the cross beak works so hard to get enough food in.
