I was talking to my grandma about my chicken's injury about a week ago. She had an interesting idea. Because the wound is so large I can't stich it closed, she told me if I was planning on culling a meat bird to transplant some of the skin on my injured pet chicken. Would that really work?
I'm not planning on ever trying it, just curious.

I don't think that would work because skin grafts are done usually from self-donation - ie they take skin from the leg and move to the arm, etc of the same person.

I would think you'd face the same rejection issues as any organ transplant patient.
