Chicken sniffles

Yeah, I added to my flock and I think that's where my problem has come from. Which has made me angry at myself.

Is it just swollen or is it discharging/ bubbling ?

Your lucky with having a good vet. I think the UK lacks vets who will see backyard chickens

It’s swollen, but gone down, and discharging and bubbly. I took her to my vet who owns chickens himself and treats chickens often and he said looked more like an eye injury. Praying he’s right but really worried it’s more than that

Hopefully does point to more of a isolate injury if the rest of the flock are ok.

Mine seem to be turning a corner with it.
No new symptoms. Sneezing runny nose and congestion is all we had. The runny noses all seem to have gone. The sneezing less so and the congestion is just in those worst effected, which seems to be my older hens (5yrs old).

I've noticed a drop in my egg count. Again my older birds have stopped laying. The did seem the hit the grit and oyster hard yesterday. They also seem to be getting more feisty putting the younger girls in place.

But everyone seems to be eating and drinking well.

They have just finished aviform respiratory stuff and now in 3 days of broad spectrum vitamins.

I have recently brought four hens and a rooster into my flock. All the newbies seemed very healthy and clear as did the others from that breeder (hatching his own) and all very free range in a big fenced pasture. I have sniffles like you described going through my flock, beginning with the oldest hen. Very same, everyone eating and acting normally other than sneezing and a little wheezing. Egg production about half, though. Supplementing with lots of greens and other nutrient-dense pickings and veg, etc. Since none are very sick and the first to get it are better after about 5 days, I think this is like starting school and sharing sniffles.
