We have a chicken who is living indoors this winter...she is in a wire dog kennel with pine shavings and mason jar feeder/waterers. This morning her chirp sounds scratchy. It sounds like she's losing her voice or has a sore throat. I think she might be shaking her head more than usual, too. She's been inside for about a month, so we are very familiar with how she sounds. Any ideas? I'm worried she has something stuck in her throat but have no idea how to check that or remove it. She is able to eat and drink.

I have recently added oyster shell free choice in her cage since she isn't free ranging with the others.
She was out of water this morning--may have tipped her waterer over.
