Hi. Usually there are all kinds of poultry, rabbits and small livestock at the swaps. What kind of quail are you looking for? Chances some will have some and let you know. Good Luck.

Courtnix or BWs are great, due to their uses.
A breeding pair of button quails, would be great too.

I have 2 button chicks (about 4 weeks old) not sure on sex unless you can tell me a trick to telling !!

Well, I htink I may have to get rid of this puppy of my daughters. Killed a chicken today. This has to be the most thick headed dog I have ever tried to train. Just stands there when I tried to use the shock collar and then kept chasing the chickens some more. If the kid doesnt start to put more time into the training, the dog is gonna be sold. I have 2 other dogs that would never dream of touching the chickens, but this nimrod is dense. I feel bad because this chick was one of the chicks that hatched in the doghouse coop in late Feb. and came out of the coop when there was a thin snow on the ground. I try so hard to keep them alive and this dog has to go and kill the poor thing. I am so mad right now!

Hope you can make it to Merrimack Saturday. You never know what you will find at the swaps.
There is also on in Candia at Griffenbrook (Across from the Mobil station) on Sunday.

sorry for your loss !

With the collar - are you sure it's working? was it on TIGHT /touching skin & does it have "levels" ...

My sister has THE numbest dog in the world - (although she's abused the poor thing IMO) ... and he has a very high prey drive - but when the collar is working properly and fastened securely - the dog stops in his tracks around the chickens (and in cases she's dropped him to the ground - sometimes when it was needed, others just because she was mad

... )

I hope your daughter steps up to the plate , or you find it a new home to save your poor chickies

Yes, I have trained many dogs and even put titles on some, I have done schutzhund work with the father of this pup too as well as obedience and conformation showing. She is just the dog version of ADD and nothing can detract her once she has her sights set on something, and unfortunately, it is usually something she will get into trouble for! I had it on level 5, could see her neck muscles twitching and she still was intent on getting at the chicken!
