Okay Greg I did it, I got an E-Z Up for the swap that I plan on attending. Does this mean now that I am equipped that I am becoming a chicken addict? I have one or two other chicken friends attending with me. I am bringing some Porcelain d'Anvers and perhaps a little Dutch Roo, although my husband is really partial to him so maybe we will keep him to ourselves. I will be looking for Bantam Wyandottes, Bantam Brahmas, or some Welsummers. I always seem to want what nobody has though

I cannot wait to see how the day goes. And if it rains, I will be dry, and most definately 10 degrees cooler. See you in Chichester

Thus far we are having a GREAT 4th of July because after much anticipation, waiting, and TONS of worrying (although that hasn't stopped yet)...three of the 4 pipped eggs hatched! Of course, there are 3 other eggs that have not pipped yet--and I'll be candling them later tonight to see if they're still moving, but we are thrilled to have these three babies thus far, and really hoping the last pipped egg hatches out as well. The first egg pipped Saturday afternoon (Baby "B"), then the second egg pipped late that night (Baby "C"), third one pipped sometime on Sunday (Baby "A"), and the last one pipped last night (Baby "D"). Hatch order went: Baby "B," Baby "A," and then Baby "C." After Baby "B" made its appearance, it ended up getting its leg caught in the hardware cloth (live and learn--next time put pillowcase down), so after watching it struggle for a bit we took the risk and opened the incubator to rescue the baby and put down a pillowcase. Luckily, the small drop in humidity (the 'bator was holding over 85% before I opened it) didn't seem to affect them as the other two hatched with no issues. I have had to open it twice more--one to rescue them again and another to remove a piece of styrofoam that had fallen down (I was worried they'd eat it). Both times the humidity stayed in the 80% range or above--so again, I'm hoping that all will be well w/the 4th egg!

Here they are in order--we'll be naming them soon!

Baby "B" - Yellow with brown heart-shaped mark on forehead, pink feet

Baby "A" - Black/Dark Brown with yellow "chest hair," black feet/legs

Baby "C" - Chocolate Brown with slightly white tipped tail feathers, brownish/pinkish feet

And I should note that these babies came from the ducks we got from blazingsaddles & 1ChickMagnet - yay, you're grandparents!!

thankyou. It was nice to meet you. I forgot to tell you that she is vienna marked. The little white spot on her nose means that with the right breeding she could throw blue eyed white offspring.

Hi Julie,
So glad to hear that you will be joining us. We have what you are looking for. 2 wyandottes and 1 light brahma. All are bantam hens. I am trying to decide if I want to keep them. They are all young and laying. If I decide not to keep them all (and that is a big if). I will send you a pm.
