I'll try that!! I have a hen who's been sitting on fake eggs for a month too!

I thought she'd have quit by now...before that she was stealing other hens eggs! I have NO CLUE how she moved them from one nestbox to the other, but she did!

Now that I have her setting....no more broken eggs!!

Thanks for the tip....one question though....how long does it take?? Will we be eating peas for a week?

My cochin hen Sadie is always broodie, she loves the babes. she was on 3 eggs I was hatching for the girls next door, 2 disappeared

, not 1 sign of the eggs. she's on 1 now should hatch

on the 7th If~ I like the frozen pea trick.

I tried the frozen peas. She moved over and started pecking the package. LOL. I may bring her to the swap, if she doesnt shap up. LOL

Hello, I lost 20 of my chickens to a wild american Mink. I didn't even know they were in my area. I am planning on driving to the Milford swap tomorrow morning but I would like to know if someone who has laying hens will be there? It's an hours drive and I don't want to go if no layers are there.

How far is Gilford from Plymouth, NH ? I am trying to get direction for sunday, as usual yahoo is not cooperating with me . I may B able 2 come down. If so I have 2 Barred rock hens won't lay for a few more months.
