Yeahhhhhh! That is what is so nice about having different breeds, you're more likely to know who is laying! Congratulations!

Just a thought.....think the red christmas lights will scare predators? Hmmmmmmm

mine are in the coop. they have been safer in my opinion than using a incandescent bulb and socket. i switched this year to the LED bulbs so i'm hoping to see some savings on the electric bill but i don't think my old ones used too much energy.

you could always crochet santa hats for all the chickens or string christmas lights on the coop.

I vote for seeing if the lav eggs are fertile

and using christmas lights as brooder lights

ok, if you are burnt out on crocheting, you could always sew a chicken christmas outfit.

hey-- don't pick on the crazy chicken ladies. My coop has candles in the windows (battery) and my girls have their own Christmas tree

ok so is the tree in the coop or the run? does it have lights? did you have the girls write to santa so he will know where to bring thier gifts?

I am never in the front yard.

I wouldn't see lights there.

I spend my time in the backyard.

It is dark when I get home.

christmas lights would be ALOT more fun than a flashlight.
