so...how does one become NPIP tested? I've always been a buyer but how would I start the NPIP process so that I could also sell at the swaps?

hi--I have not been on the computer for a week. just catching up. don't know if anyone answered you. if not, call the department of agriculture. you can make an appointment for a tester to come to your house. if there is still grant money available it is free.

We were there and came home with this girl:

I don't know the name of who we bought her from (you may remember us - my daughter has super long red hair and was wearing a purple coat), but I wanted to say that she will be very loved. I have an egg-laying flock (in the barn) of "normal" chickens, but my daughter's chickens are house pets, live on our three-season porch, and are treated like small dogs. They get baths weekly, they're carried around constantly, and yes they do get photoshoots. She had just lost her beloved serama mix hen and I was praying we'd find a sweet baby pullet for her. So far the new girl is just perfect. So many thanks!

what a nice photo. that one was bred by me, hatched and raised by chickenprnces. sold by me. so glad the little one got a good home.

you really saved the day. you made alot of babies really happy.

for anyone who didn't know, the woman with the big camera was filming for nbc. I think the show was nightline. they didn't know when it would air. if anyone sees tractor supply or chickenswapsofnh in the lineup of that show can you please let all of us know. many of us would like to tape the show.

just found out jeepchick brought the generator. oops. both women offered. thanks to both for offering. sorry I mixed up who actually brought it.

Thank you - do you often have the type of cross she is (silkie/cochin, I assume)? She's such a sweetheart.
during the winter I put alot of my bantams together. in the spring I seperate them into breeding pens. the birds have not been seperated yet. If anyone would like hatching eggs from this pen I will sell some.
the girls for the most part are silkies. the boys are japanese-frizzled polish-showgirl-and lavander cochin. my best guess is that the boy below is the dad. the 2 in the picture will be put into a breeding pen as soon as I can find the tiime to do it.

I just candled some interesting bator eggs and I have almost one hundred per cent fertility. I will be selling fertile eggs from these guys and will mix dozens.

rumpless blue splash aracauna roo over white crested black frizzled polish-polish naked neck-and frizzled cochin hen. could get frizzled rumpless naked necks with polish head feathers that lay colored eggs and olive eggers. can't wait till some of these hatch.

bantam birchen sizzle over white sultan. I have only hatched 1 chick so far and it is white.

sultan roo and columbian showgirl roo over sultan hen and appenzeller hen.

mottled old english roo over mottled serama hen and milliefleur d'uccle hen. I have hatched a few chicks from this group and they are really cute and tiny.

pm me if you would like some for tilton.

Hey no problem! now we just need to find a way to heat the people for these March swaps and we will be in good shape hahaha! Still have a bunch of pullets that will be coming to Tilton all between 4 and 7 weeks old.

Howdy. I haven't been getting any posts from the sight. Thought I better sign in. May I ask, what is a Rooster round up ? 2 of my pullets I bought @ the Meridith swap last yr turned into Roos, so I now have 6 . a few of my Hens are taking a beating( so to say )
