Well I am still a newbee at 1 1/2 yrs. My silkies does his best ( lol)
. I haven't tried 2 hatch an egg from the NHR. not sure if they have taken. Someone had a huge NHR Roo at the swap.. I have a few banty's that R broody.
Chicknchick , I know I'll C U in Littleton. who else is planing on going 2 Littleton on the 31st ? My new Polish girls need more in their coop 4 the winter. I put my sweet sweet EE in this morn, she flew over the wire . going to take a pic of my naked neck Zeeva, to post on the naked neck thread
they R so beautiful. Hubby did not get the floor laid down 4 the small coop, so the girls R inside in my office in a larger crate. grain, water & a nice fluffy bed of pine shavings. My parakeets R chatting away , the boxer is sitting by them . I am over taken with them
. Did U have names 4 the girls ? Thank you so much !!
By the way to you have Welsummers? Marans ? Faverolles or Russian Orloffs?
glad my birds found a loving home. they do not have names. you will have to let me know what you decide on. I spend a good part of the winter finding the right names for my new additions. I got 2 silkies for my birthday sat and mine are temporally in the house too. it is so easy to spoil them when they are in the next room.
do not have any of the other breeds you are looking for. next year I will be adding standard size frizzled cochins to my line provided that my new cockerel knows what to do. I also have a beautiful standard size silver laced polish roo to add to the lineup for next year. he is a real sweetheart and hopefully will make some great chicks.
Thank you for the 6 chickens at last weeks swap. They are loving their new home and the Frizzle Cochin and buff Bramah are beautiful.
The "Foley" Blue laced red Wyandotte roo is taking great care of the girls and gets along we'll with the family "very friendly".
Thanks again and Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.

I am so glad everyone is getting along good. I really hated giving up Apollo but I am so glad they all went to great homes. It makes things alot easier. Good luck with them.
I like the name Apollo. I hadn't come up with a name yet for him and I've always been a mythology buff, so I think I will Keep it Apollo
I am glad you like the name Apollo. He got along good with all the hens & pullets.
Who knows, maybe next year I will be able to build my flock back up and you might have some of his babies for sale.
Congrats on the the new Silkies Janet, I can't think of a better birthday gift. Don't forget to add the pictures.

hi cheryl,
the ee I got from you laid her first egg for me today. everyone is still getting adjusted so there have been no eggs. I was pretty excited when I found a pretty green egg! The girls have been in the coop for a week and a half. they started to come out yesterday. greg says that they ate 50 pounds of feed last week.
I fed them a loaf of bread a day too. I have them eat out of my hands. they have plumped up alot. they follow greg and I around looking for handouts. I really love the dark brahma she practally jumps into my arms when I open up the coop. she not only eats from my hands but she likes to lean against me while eating. what a little cutie-pie.
