hi all, just finished rearranging the birds. It is so great to need to do that after a swap.
I was so busy today that other than a quick run through the farmers market I never left our spot. someone in the farmers market was giving away plants for free! I think most of us went home with some. I got some nice hot pink petunias. during my "run through" I spotted baked goods,beef,fruit,veges,jams,plants and all kinds of other neat stuff.
I never got to look at the swap animals but still managed to come home with a beautiful white cochin pullet. thanks jen and heather. my only regret is that I did not get to visit more except for going out to eat at ihop where I had a hot fudge sunday for lunch--yum---.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe fourth of july and thanks everyone for making today fantastic.

will I ever be glad when this weather breaks. 2 days,2 different trucks at work,ac broken. yuck!!
I have fans on in the coop all day for the kids. I have 3 week olds with no brooder light which seems wierd.

does anyone know anything about the panels for our tents? do you need to get the same brand or just the same size? are they hard to find? I was hoping to get 1 or 2 for this weekend.

I had 2 OEGB hens hatch eggs in secret so I have some OEGB/Bantam Mottled Cochin and Dutch/Bantam Mottled Cochin chicks I need to find homes for (15 or so chicks). The chicks will all be banty size. About 5 are barred in color, the rest look to be black or black mottled. Boys and girls. All have feather legs. Free to good home- would like them to go in batch of 6 or more. Pets/breeder/egg homes only.

I also have 4 pure Russian Orloff chicks approx 6 weeks - 2 months old. Standard size- 2 boys and 2 girls (I think) $6 each. Pair of young Nankin bantams - sweet pair, been breeding/laying $40.

The eggs I bought from you at the last Merrimack swap are hatching. The Duck eggs are due to hatch next Wednesday. Some of the eggs were from your frizzled special. One of them has a naked neck. A couple people thought their was something wrong with it. I told them it was a frizzled showgirl. It was a great hatch. If you go on merrimack Veterany Hospital face book you can see pictures of all of them hatching.

by the way, my little lisa has been sitting on eggs for 2 weeks. she is very focused and will not allow me to touch her. I think she will be a great mom. Last weekend I hatched the first ever chick from her and my white tailed black japanese roo. it is so tiny and it needed help out of the egg. It is very healthy and strong. I can not wait to see if it frizzles.

So I guess we are both grandmothers lol.
