I had a duck that was sitting on 20 eggs. Then I started noticing one less everyday. She finally only hatched 2. I thought she was eating them. But. Was a snake going under her at night and swallowing one whole. Check the floors. For holes etc. They can squeeze into small spots. If the hens are asleep they won't notice.

Holy cow !!!! The floor is solid, no holes, just swept up the floor 2nite & th coop is more than a foot off the ground , I do leave the main door & the chicken door open all day when the weather is nice.. How do I trap a "rat' without a chicken getting into the save a heart trap. Ok snakes R another story. I sit out there alot on my time off & only have seen just the past 2 months 2 chipmunks . Ummm does this mean I should retire from work 2 watch over my chickens ~

My Broody is the 1 that lost 2 eggs. she has never done anything bad / wrong. she is now with new chicks I got from Cheryl & jen & the 1 egg that was left hatched the day after I set the day old chicks under her, & the egg hatched as well. I am beside myself over this.I can't let the egg eating go on, but no clue who is the culprit, if this is indeed whats happening. I don't have this many chickens 2 loose eggs 2 an egg eater.

Hello All,
I just want to make sure, that the swap this coming Saturday the 17th is the one is Tilton? Then next is Chichester? I dont want to miss these ones!

I will be bringing lots of Multicolor Frizzle Roosters to the next few swaps, two are full size clean legged birds, One is blind in one eye due to an injury from a hawk attack, but he gets around fine now, and we call him, Scar. He is a sweetie, and a bit timid, but a pretty black and red standard size frizzle. If anyone is interested in them, let me know! Thanks A~

Yes, next Saturday is Tilton and Sunday is Derry. Chichester is the following Saturday.

Todays swap was a beautiful day. I finally got to meet a family that I have been talking to on facebook for the last two months. Thank you for taking my two roosters..........lol.
Thank you so much April for my Lavender Ameraucana pullet. I put her right in with Luke and Laura and it was like old home day.

We named her LuLu after Luke and Laura on General Hospital.......lol. Donny named the other two and he doesn't even watch soaps.
Also thank you Greg for the fresh veggies. I love this time of year for that reason.
