there must be something very wrong with me, getting another rooster on purpose......

my daughter is already trying to come up with a name for him lol

looking forward to seeing everyone's chickies & other critters!

I've now had three tries hatching frizzled seramas with shipped eggs and no luck - so I obviously need to just buy one. I am getting tired of buying 40+ eggs and only hatching a few, and always the smooths!

Does anyone NPIP in NH have a frizzled TINY ROOSTER that would like a good home and can be brought to a swap? Can be Serama, OEG, mix, whatever. Just has to be small enough to be with our Serama, Serama cross, and tiny OEG hens (so not much larger than 16-18 oz when grown) and needs to be frizzled. We'd offer a no-kill home and a number of lovely ladies. We mix our own food, keep things very clean and treat the birds well, and the Seramas never live outside. They rotate between our three-season porch and our basement depending on the weather. They're very special to us and we try to give them a great life.

Thanks so much!

- Joanna in Plaistow

(By the way, we're planning on vending at a swap pretty soon; we got NPIP tested and we've been building up our numbers and trying to figure out which to sell - 1Chick Magnet, the eggs you sold us are now almost adults and we have some gorgeous colors and designer fun types that are going to form the foundation of a bunch of breeding pens. I have one of your HUGE frizzle cochin/brahma cockerels that is so gorgeous I am just tickled pink by him. He's going to get his own harem of Buff Orps and Buff Cochins in a couple of months. Woo hoo!)
hi Joanna,
congrats on getting npip tested.
if you would ever feel like posting pics of my grandbabies, I would love to see them.
every baby of my bubba (giant cochin frizzle) that I have seen is beautiful! bubba is getting buff cochins for next year. he also got a partridge cochin.

wow...today flew by. lots of people showed up. the store blocked off the swap area with bales of shavings. what a great idea.
I got a yummy sausage, pepper and onion sandwich from our food vendor.
came home with lots of empty cages. there is one problem with that. now I have to go talk myself out of some chickens so that I have someone to bring tomorrow.

. that part is always so difficult because I really want to keep everybody.

Greg sold his turkeys. he will be bringing his last 2 broad breasted whites tomorrow. if you miss these you will have to wait till next year.

I will bring a very tiny mottled serama/old english. I have been dragging my feet on this little guy because he is so tiny and has such a beautiful pattern.
I might bring a young sultan hen
Greg is bringing an old english roo.

my little broken choclate bunny found a home but I still have the chocolate.

see everyone tomorrow

Great swap today. Fun time meeting new chicken people and chatting with some of the regulars. I'm still deciding if I'm up to treking 2 hours to the Walpole swap tomorrow. If I go I would be bringing 18 week old Black Stars, 16 week old Light Brahmas & White Rocks, all from NPIP hatchery stock and close to laying. I also have some younger RIRs, Barred Rocks and a few EE's. If anyone is looking for ladies who are close to laying you might be able to tip the scales and convince me to go, just let me know.
