Looking for egg and meatbird producers in Lake Wales Fl area. I need to sell or swap overproduction and buy new breeds for crosses.
Currently I have 16 American Bresse hens, 10 RIR, 5 Dark Cornish as layers. I also raise my own meatbirds. I have 25 Rolin S cockerels and 8 pullets ready for freezer camp. I allso just added 50 mixed heavy breed chix from an Ideal Hatchery sale
The most valuable thing I currently produce is probably the high quality compost from the deep litter roosting area. I free range on a limited basis (bears, panthers, bobcats, coyotes, coons and eagles think I am Col. Sanders) and supplement feed with biochar. I am getting amazing results from the charcoal, litter stays dryer and odor free, feed conversion is a bit better and the chickens love it .
