Chicken sweaters for winter weather

That's what I thought. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Chicken Pageant.

We're in WNC now. My girls are loving the cool weather. Only my naked neck Silkie worried me and it just turned out she's gone broody.

They're cute for a quick picture but I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that they can actually make them colder by reducing their ability to puff up their feathers when it's cold out.

I hear that, too. Plus, they can't preen themselves. How annoying it must be to have an incessant itch you can't scratch! At least the hen saddles allow a hen to still dustbathe, preen, arrange her feathers, etc.
