It would cost some money but not as much as a regular fence, but...
Did you consider an electric fence, w/charger and step-in fence posts, easy to install, move, etc.? Available at Tractor Supply stores, most farm supply stores or livestock supply catalogs on the internet.
I would consider keeping them in the run, at least until you solve the problem of the predator or whenever you can't be right there with them.
But meanwhile if you ran that electric fence around that run and hen house, first wire only 4 inches off ground, second, 8 or 9 inches above that, then fill in the center/top with two more wires, I'll bet you could stop that dog.
What do the rest of you think?
