Hi---if anyone has an idea let me in on it---my 5 month old RIR rooster seems to purrr at times-is he
practicing for crowing one day? when do they start crowing?

Can you upload a video of him doing it on YouTube and post the link here?
Cockerels can crow as early as a few weeks old and as late as your cockerel, although I would think he would be crowing by now like most cockerels.

When I get a chance I’ll try to catch him doing it - don’t know if he is quite 5 months yet but I didn’t know they started crowing so early. We’ve only had him 1 wk and the person who sold it to us said he should “start crowing soon” - anyway thank you for response.
