Chicken Temp outside.. will the by ok in 28 degree temps..

Will chickens feet be okay in the snow? I know in cold temps they can get frostbite so we put vaseline on them, however if we were to let them out to free range would they get frostbite on their feet as well ? They do have a run but they are wanting to get out so bad. lol

Hey Hoosier Mama, I'm around Lafayette and my girls love the snow (as long as it's not as deep as it is right now). They root around and I've never had any feet problems.

it was 12 degrees last night and mine were all fine. No real henhouse....they decided a long time ago they like to roost on a old pallet all together.
