I have 7 one month and a week old chicks. Can they go outside? We are having a front blow in with 40-50 degree weather overnight and 70-80 degree weather during the day. We live in Texas, and temps fluctuate all day long.

the 1 m/o chicks should be fine. id be hesitant about the week old tho. That's just me. But if its that warm outside, they should be fine in a good enclosure. Do you plan on providing any heat for the PM?

BTW :welcome Welcome TO BYC!

I moved mine out at 5 weeks, with lows in the 30s they did just fine. We even had a freeze the first week and they were unfazed.

Yes, they have a cage in the garage with a little heater now. The heater is set to 70, I thought they might get cold.

Also, I have a little Brahma chick the same age as the others. She lives with them too, but she is much smaller. She is a little bit larger than my silkie chicks I got today. Can she go outside?

They'll be fine.
This has been a crazy spring. Here we had a high of 80 today. This weekend a freeze is coming, lows in 20s. Chicken owners all over the country are in the same dilemma about moving chicks out!

I think so, it wouldn't be good to separate them. Last year, I had 2 bantams in w leghorns, they all went outside at 5 weeks, first nights low was 40.
