Mystery is our chicken we happened to come across after losing a much beloved delaware hen, Flurry… My father buried her, and a week later, proclaimed that she’d come back to life. We walked out in awe to another white chicken walking around the yard. I’d genuinely thought he was losing his marbles.
We named her Mystery because it’s a mystery how she got here. We assume someone found a lost chicken in the neighborhood, and knowing we have chickens and assuming her to be ours, chucked her over the fence. We’ll never know. She’s been with us for a couple years now.
She is a fairly heavy-bodied bird, with a very light colombian pattern on her, and a single comb. Her columbian pattern is far lighter than our delaware, and while our delaware had yellow legs, this girl has pink/white legs. Her feathers are white, though she’s browned them from dust baths.
What possible breed could she be?
