Chicken throwing up??

We have one chicken that threw up a white/clear very foamy mucus like substance. She looks like shes gagging a bit, and moving her head and neck around too. She's not eating and moving fairly slow. Still moves away from me but not like runs away like normal.

I think she ate too much food and water.
The water is making her throw up, and The food is making her "gag".

Sounds like she's choking or her crop is impacted. Try to get her and CAREFULLY inspect her crop. You don't want her to aspirate and die.

My chickens do the same thing if they eat too much crumble/water...

Let's hope that's all that's going on. The only hen who did that was badly impacted from salpingitis. She aspirated on her vomit and died within seconds.

Man, that's unfortunate...

My poor hen lost tons of weight for no apparent reason. Then her crop stopped emptying. It was very sad. She was a sweet girl and an excellent layer. She was a production hybrid, and they are prone to reproductive issues.

She was acting like that for a little bit longer, then she drank some water and now she seems fine? We'll keep an eye on her but I don't know if she was just choking or what. We are switching them from crumble to pellets but I'm mixing it so its not a dramatic switch.

Maybe sour crop?
Check her crop in the morning and see if its empty or full.
