OK, I've heard that one is to drill holes in an easter egg(plastic kind) and fill it with birdseed, scratch, etc. How big should the holes be?
 
It might be hard to drill holes in those hard plastic eggs. I would try dime size holes.. Be sure to come back and let us know how it works...
 
I'm not sure I would want my birds to associate eggs with food...you might be setting yourself up for some very bad behaviours. Good "toys" might be a head of cabbage suspended on a wire coat hanger (carefully closing end so it won't "poke" the girls!) and you have chicken tetherball...lettuce, kale, etc would work too.
