I want to have a 3 foot wide tractor so I can pull it around my garden paths. My potager graden is broken up into squares that are either 6x8 or 7x9. All the paths in the potager are 3'1". How long can the tractor be and still get around the corners. I'm putting wheels on it so I can move it like a wheelbarrow. I want it to be as long as possible but still get around the corners of the beds. What do you think?

Im not sure how long you can have it , but check out some of the other's coops , there are some really sweet ones on here that may work for you

Do you have 3' 1" on all sides? If so, at 3' wide I don't thing it could be longer than 2 or maybe 3' that to get around the corners. I would build it lightweight (mine can be picked up) and then it can be as long as you want it. There are some great pvc designs that would accomodate you.

I don't think 3' long is really long enough for a couple chickens, do you? I really want a tractor because I want to paint it like the one below, which I found online somewhere (could have been here!).

Yes, the paths are all 3'1".

The entire garden will also have a run around it and that is 40'x60', and that run is 2' wide, so they'll have quite a lot. But I did want to occasionally be able to wheel it out to the paths to keep them weeded and de-bugged. I guess I could have someone help me carry it, lifting it around the corners when I needed to do so. I just prefer to be able to do things by myself so I don't have to wait for dh to come home and that sort of thing.

A potager is a garden that is laid out in a pattern, often with raised beds. I think of it as a bit more of a decorative vegie garden than just rows. I also am adding a lot of garden art to mine and it has flowers as well as vegies.

Here's the tractor I just fell in love with:

I was able to convert to a jpg. Here's a not-to-scale layout of the garden. The only place where the 'path' is wider than 3'1" is along that whole right side where it says chicken tractor and chicken run.
