Chicken tractor help!

We are wanting to make some chicken tractors for possible meat chickens. We have a few predators around our acreage and were wondering if we could put chicken wire on the bottom on the ground. That way, predators couldn't dig up into their area. Is this a safe option for their feet?

Most people prefer an apron that extends out from the coop instead of in for the reason you are asking...so they don't hurt their feet.

Correct apron should be on the outside.
