I just wanted to share a few photos of my girls. Got them last spring.

Here they are this morning, scratching around in some grass clippings. From left to right:

Gretchen in the font left (EE), Thelma in the back (BA) and Rocket at the right (SS)

This afternoon laying eggs in the same basket. Thelma on bottom (BA) and Rocket top (SS)

they look very happy and healthy - do they lay well for you?

The SS and BA are great layers, 5-6 eggs a week. The SS started laying late, around 9-10 months but she's a little trooper. They both give me large brown eggs

The EE started laying at 18 weeks on the dot and gave me 4-5 green eggs per week up until a month or so ago. She got egg bound and then didn't lay for about 2 weeks. She started again but its been really sporadic. She'll lay for a couple days, then maybe a rubber egg, then it will take a couple more days for her to start again. In between the rubber eggs and normal eggs she will sometimes walk around straining to push something out. She does still eat/drink/dust bathe, preen and scratch so?

I did take her to a vet. We did blood tests to see if she was low on calcium-that came back normal. We did x-rays to see if she was indeed egg bound or if she had any tumors we could see-nothing came up odd. We did a fecal-came back clean. I even did a course of antibiotics. I've cut out almost all treats entirely. Sooooo I just make her happy and hope she is comfortable.

I did not add any light during the winter as I think they deserve a break. They all stopped laying around November and then started up again around March.
